The Long Beach Police will be closing the cross streets at Lew Davis St. and Clark Ave. between 7:00 am and 10:00 am during the first two weeks of the Fall semester beginning Aug. 27, 2018. The Long Beach Community College District Board of Trustees approved a new four-year contract this week for their Superintendent-President Dr. Reagan F. Romali. “Dr. Romali’s accomplishments have been significant during the short one-year time period she has been with us at Long Beach City College,” said Board President Sunny Zia. “We are lucky to have her and are proud of the fact we were able to bring a leader with her level of knowledge and experience to our college district.” Long Beach City College is offering a free boot camp workshop series geared towards young women in high school, grades 10 through 12. This boot camp aims to give young women exposure to different career opportunities available within the computer science field while teaching them how to code. Long Beach City College will host the Long Beach Community Job Fair at Veterans Stadium, 4901 E. Conant St., on Tues., Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, with pre-registration required. Job seekers should bring resumes, dress professionally and be ready to be interviewed.
